About Dave

To all People to whom these Presents shall come…Greetings!

Let’s begin at the beginning.

Litchfield has been my hometown from birth.  It has been a great place to grow up in. My parents enrolled me in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League and so many other programs that helped build a strong connection to the Litchfield community. I was very fortunate in that regard.

Even when it came time for college I didn’t stray far. I thoroughly enjoyed my years at the University of Connecticut where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

Following college a number of years were spent as a social worker at a special education facility in the area. Perhaps the greatest skill I learned during this time was to listen carefully to my clients and their needs in order to best help them.

From there I entered the real estate field on a part-time basis eventually opening my own firm on a full-time basis which I operated in Litchfield for 22 years before returning to E. J. Murphy Realty where I first started.

On a more personal basis, the joys of my life include spending time with my wife Janet and our family, especially our three incredible grandchildren. We love to cook, travel, garden and relax in our beautiful yard.

Now here’s more of the usual biographical fluff:

  • 30+ full-time years in the business
  • President of the Litchfield County Board of REALTORS in 2012
  • 2013 REALTOR of the Year
  • Graduate of the REALTOR Institute (GRI)
  • Current member of the Town of Litchfield Board of Ethics
  • Member of the Litchfield Area Business Association (LABA)

I don’t offer this information to boast, but rather to demonstrate my commitment to my profession and to putting my experience to work for the best interests of my clients.

Being locally grounded benefits sellers and buyers alike. Happy clients make me happy.

I’m passionate about my real estate career and I love what I do.

Thank you.
